Mega Millions Ticket Worth $3 Million Sold in New Jersey as Jackpot Climbs to $575 Million

A Mega Millions ticket worth $3 million was sold in New Jersey for Tuesday night’s drawing, according to officials from the New Jersey Lottery. The lucky ticket matched all five white balls but missed the Mega Ball, securing the second-tier prize in the October 7, 2025 draw.

Winning Numbers for October 7, 2025

The Mega Millions winning numbers for Tuesday’s drawing were 7, 26, 33, 45, and 56, with the Mega Ball number 19.

Although no ticket hit the $547 million jackpot, the prize has now rolled over, bringing the estimated Mega Millions jackpot for the next drawing on Friday to $575 million, with a cash option of $264.6 million.

New Jersey Joins List of Big Winners

Lottery officials said they will reveal the exact New Jersey retailer location that sold the $3 million winning ticket later on Wednesday.

In addition to the New Jersey winner, two other second-prize tickets were sold in California, valued at $4 million and $5 million, respectively.

These prizes are part of the Mega Millions Power Play multiplier, which increases non-jackpot winnings depending on the chosen option.

No Jackpot Winner Yet — 29 Drawings Since June

The Mega Millions jackpot has continued to grow since June 27, when a player in Virginia won a $348 million prize. Since then, there have been 29 consecutive drawings without a jackpot winner, building anticipation across 45 states, Washington, D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Odds of Winning Mega Millions

Players have a 1 in 12,607,306 chance of matching five numbers without the Mega Ball to win at least $1 million. The odds of matching four numbers plus the Mega Ball for a $10,000 prize are approximately 1 in 931,001.

Drawings take place every Tuesday and Friday at 11 p.m. Eastern Time.

How to Play Mega Millions

To play, each Mega Millions ticket costs $2, with an optional Megaplier feature that increases non-jackpot prizes for an additional $1 per play. However, the article mentions that tickets with certain multipliers can cost up to $5 in some regions, depending on retailer promotions.

Players choose five numbers from 1 to 70 and one Mega Ball number from 1 to 25. Those who prefer convenience can opt for Quick Pick to have numbers randomly generated.
